The cost at your headcount

Figures are the annual-billing rate. “Billed seats” is what appears on the invoice, which is not always the number of people you have.

How Keeper is priced, and what that does as you grow

Straight per-user billing at $2 per user per month. Cost tracks headcount exactly, so every hire adds the same amount and there is no cliff to plan around — the simplest model to budget, and the one that gets expensive last in small teams and first in large ones.

The seat floor: 5 minimum

Keeper will not sell fewer than 5 seats. Below that headcount you are billed for people you do not have. A three-person firm pays for 2 seats it cannot staff — 67% on top of what it is actually using — and a solo owner pays for 4 empty seats, which is why the per-person column above looks so bad at the top of the table.

A floor is not automatically disqualifying, but it is a real cost that headline per-user rates hide. If two products are otherwise close, the one without a floor is cheaper at your size and stays cheaper until you reach the floor.

Annual billing only

Keeper does not offer month-to-month billing on this plan. That has a consequence most comparisons skip: there is no mid-term downgrade. If this turns out to be the wrong plan in month two, you carry it for ten more months. Run your audit 60 days before renewal, because the renewal date is the only day of the year your decision can take effect.

The headcounts where the answer changes

Because these products are priced on different models, “cheaper” is a function of team size rather than a property of the product. These are the points where the cheaper of the two swaps over:

• vs 1Password Business — 1Password Business is cheaper below 2 people. From 2 up, Keeper is ($10 against $17.98).
• vs Bitwarden Enterprise — Bitwarden Enterprise is cheaper below 2 people. From 2 up, Keeper is ($10 against $12).
• vs Dashlane — Dashlane is cheaper below 2 people. From 2 up, Keeper is ($10 against $16).
• vs Bitwarden Teams — Bitwarden Teams is cheaper below 3 people. From 3 up, Keeper is ($10 against $12).

If you expect to cross one of those numbers inside the next year, price the headcount you will have rather than the one you have now. Migrating a tool you have already filled with data is the expensive way to save the difference.

What this page does not tell you

Price is the easiest thing to verify and the least likely to decide whether a tool was a good idea. This page says nothing about whether your team will actually adopt it, how quickly you can remove someone's access when they leave, whether your data comes out in a usable shape, or what support is like when something breaks at month end. Those cost more than the gaps above when they go wrong, and none of them are visible on a pricing page — ours or the vendor's.

We have not run a hands-on lab test of Keeper. When we do, it will be dated and logged in the test log, and this page will link to it. Until then, treat everything here as what it is: verified arithmetic on a published price.
